AP/Payroll Officer - Retail - Central Sydney

The Role
This AP/Payroll position is called 'Assistant Accountant' and will support the team in the following ways:
- Payroll ownership for 80 permanent employees plus a small number of casuals. This is processed fortnightly with support from HR.
- Accounts Payable for suppliers & overhead payments. This includes coding and entering invoices and 2 payment runs a week.
- Reconcile supplier statements and credit card statements on a fortnightly basis and investigate and resolve any disputes immediately.
- All month-end supporting tasks for payables and payroll functions.
Our client is looking for someone who can commit to a 12-month fixed-term contract. Other key desirables from the hiring manager are:
- Payroll experience for a pay run of over 30 staff. Ideally some experience on your resume of reviewing timesheets/hours.
- Strong accounts payable experience in a manual environment
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise confidently with suppliers to answer any queries.
