The Appeals Convenor provides advice to the Minister for Environment on appeals made under the Environmental Protection Act 1986. The Appeals Convenor is supported by a team of dynamic and solutions-focused environmental professionals who assist in investigations on a large range of environmental decisions, including environmental impact assessments, permits for clearing native vegetation and conditions applying to works approvals and licences.The Department of Water and Environmental Regulation (DWER) supports the Appeals Convenor in their work through the provision of corporate support services and is the employing authority for staff of the office.
