Our Branch
Brisbane City Council’s ICT environment is large with over 450 applications, 9500 desktops / mobile devices and a wide array of technology services supported by Information Services Branch (ISB). ISB continues to drive several key technology and process initiatives with a focus on innovation, streamlining ICT solutions and developing a stronger alignment to our customers.

The Role
An exciting opportunity exists to work on a number of Council’s primary systems. The Application Developer role will work with an Application Development Lead, Functional Analysts, and business experts to contribute to functional requirements, system design and development for key applications that support the Revenue, Land Management and Regulatory functions of Council.The role is responsible for documenting technical designs, implementing code changes, performing data extracts, incident resolution, problem analysis and support batch processes using technologies including SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle Forms and Reports, Unix scripts.
To be successful you will have:
- demonstrated expertise in delivering and supporting Oracle applications through preparing system specifications, reviewing, and developing test plans, and coding the changes to ensure that systems meet business needs.
- proven ability to analyse, diagnose and resolve incidents for Oracle applications and databases. Provide Oracle expertise to resolve issues in a cross-functional setting involving multiple layers of the technology stack or integrations between applications in an end-to-end service.
- demonstrated expertise in the following technologies: SQL, Oracle PL/SQL, Oracle Forms and Reports, Unix shell script.
