ABOUT THE ROLE
S/he is responsible for supporting our customers for the selection, application / implementation, usage / functionality, quality, training, etc to support the business growth in the market. The role is critical in the rapid expansion of the technology proposition across product and services. S/he should have industry experience and is able to provide guidance and insight into the product requirements in certain industries, and thus able to influence customer’s choice / product selection.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Product
• Will provide application knowledge and support on key strategic product offerings as specified including Fluke, Rock PI and Telemecanique Sensors
• Attend site as and when required to understand customer application and needs and provide solutions from defined product offering
• Able to handle enquiries professionally by phone, emails, etc including walk in customers.
• Support the market GM/Sales Manager on deep technical or industry sector related topics.
• Build knowledge bases on prioritized products, FAQs, product comparison charts, alternative products, etc.
• Product / Category training to sales team and customers.
• Align and collaborate with the Product & Supplier Managers in NPI selection and prioritization.
• Deep understanding of RS Pro product range, technical content, and applications.
• Review and enhance technical documentation, schematic design, etc.
Sales & marketing support
• Measure and achieve set revenue growth objective for assigned product lines as specified including Fluke,
Rock PI and Telemecanique Sensors
• Support X Reference Team with BOM management as required
Provide guidance and insight into certain industry sectors in term of product requirements, challenges, and
opportunities for RS.
• Support Sales and marketing team on technical value propositions and solutions.
• Identify project or spec-in opportunity with the customers / end users.
• Work with customer end users and RS internal sales team to provide the professional technical advice.
• Support the industry trade show events and tech demos.
• Assist marketing team with technical content including text and physical products.
• Occasionally support customer meetings throughout the entire sales process, from opportunity
identification to post sales and maintenance.
• Contribute to responding to RFQ, creating product presentations, customer training, etc.
Essential Requirements:
• Diploma or Engineering Degree in Electronics, Electrical or Mechanical.
• Min of 5 years of strong Application engineer/Electronics & Industrial experience in Electronics, Industrial or distribution type of business or relevant with RS industry with proven track record of achievements.
• Strong communication skill, able to communicate confidently and effectively at all levels of the business
• Being independent, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision. The candidate will need to strategize, plan and execute Engineering proposal activities to meet and exceed the business targets.
• This is primarily an individual contributor role. People management experience is not required, but experience working with other people internally and externally is important.
Desirable:
• Experience working in face to face customer visits in field/on site will be advantage.
• Able to show evidence of value-added technical spec-in, engineering advice to customers.
• Local & multi language skills will be an added advantage.
• Experience or practical knowledge / skills with SBC, Test & Measurement and/or Telemecanique sensors is an advantage
