About the opportunityWe continue to grow at Detmold Group, and we're pleased to offer the newly created position of
Applications Engineer as part of an exciting ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) implementation project across multiple locations in Australia and Asia.Epicor has been selected as our vendor and implementation partner.This is a rare opportunity to be a part of a major transformation project from the start.Based in Adelaide, SA, and reporting to the Enterprise Application Manager, you'll make programming customisations & configurations to the ERP, and other applications systems to support business requirements.You understand business needs and can translate to system requirements, write technical specification documents, ensure test cases are mapped to requirements documents and system functionality is verified and tested.In terms of specific responsibilities, you will:
- Evaluate user requirements and implement working solutions through system design, analysis, testing, training, and documentation.
- Work with cross functional work groups to identify and document detailed requirements, workflow, information sources and distribution paths, and system specifications.
- Liaise with development and support teams to transfer/communicate business requirements.
- Read, digest, and communicate complex subject matter to all levels and influence to accomplish desired outcomes.
- Pro-actively identify, document, and resolve issues.
- Determine short and long-term solutions to resolve critical business processes and system issues.
About youWhat you'll need:- Extensive experience in a similar role, ideally in a manufacturing/warehousing environment.
- Experience with ERP system technology, ideally Epicor and a thorough business understanding of various ERP domains (eg Accounting, Fixed Assets, Inventory Management, Sale, Purchasing... etc)
- An understanding of user centred design, empathy for end users and the ability to gather customer pain points and identify solutions.
- Deep product knowledge to serve as the product expert for all stakeholders.
- Sound experience with software development methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall.
- Strong results-orientation combined with excellent problem-solving skills.
- A degree qualification in computer science or a related discipline.
