About the Role
As a key member of the Application Engineering Team based in either New Zealand or Australia, you will be responsible for developing new business and supporting the delivery of projects across the Australasian region.
Your attention to detail and desire to produce best-in-class system concepts is part of your natural flair, complemented by supporting the delivery of projects to fruition.
You will feel at home using 3D AutoCAD with proven experience in data processing and analysis. Your ability to balance creativity and innovation is guided by the desire to solve business problems, communicated through thoughtful design and process.
Ideally, you will have experience in the design or execution of materials handling systems or within warehousing, supply chain, e-commerce, freight, cargo, or airport industries. Awareness of Six Sigma Quality methodologies is beneficial.
Your key responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Business Development:
- Analyse and interpret customer data to be applied to solution design concepts.
- Development of material and process flows for solutions.
- Develop system layouts.
- Support the development of the safety in design reviews.
- Help develop requirements documents for concept solutions.
- Assist engineering team to design and revise new and existing components for material handling systems.
- Generation of material lists for sales workbooks and tender documents.
- Estimation and development of cost plans used in proposals.
- Development of RFQ's for specialised equipment or services during tender preparation.
- Development of project delivery schedules associated with sales proposals.
- Project Delivery:
- Act as the lead engineer for the delivery and support of the solution.
- Coordinate with Daifuku group affiliated company engineering representatives.
- Engage with external suppliers of 3rd party equipment and services.
- Guide and advise supporting engineering functions as required by the wider project team.
- Development of RFQ's for specialised equipment or services during the project execution phase.
- Adherence with design and engineering standards, involvement with developing these standards.
- Ensuring all aspects of the Scope of Works are closed out to the satisfaction of the Client's Representative.
- Complete site visits to advise on installation and associated engineering issues with the site supervisor(s).

Your qualifications and experience will include:
- A graduate degree in engineering or technology
- Proven experience in using 3D AutoCAD.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Previous experience in the design or execution of materials handling systems is preferred.
- Previous experience within warehousing, supply chain, e-commerce, freight, cargo, or airport industries.
- High level of IT literacy, and proficiency using MS Access and MS Project.
- Awareness of Six Sigma Quality methodologies
- Strong attention to detail.
