Defence Housing Australia (DHA) is a Nationally Recognised Government Business Enterprise with the primary role of providing housing and related services to Defence and their families. DHA manages one of Australia’s largest national housing portfolios of about 17,000 properties and is currently seeking an experienced Technical Lead to join the team.

About the role

As the Application Support Technical Lead, you will head up the Applications Support Team. You will lead and prioritise application support issues, disseminating technical information, improve your leadership skills to ensure effective resolutions are implemented in a timely manner by the team.

About your team

You will report to the IT Client Services Manager within the Infrastructure Operations team. The Infrastructure Operations team sits as part of the Business Solutions and Technology Group. The IT Client Services team is responsible for supporting bespoke, hybrid and cloud platforms, with new and enhanced capabilities being delivered through the Technology Refresh Program.

Skills you need to succeed in this role:

  • Experience in delivering positive outcomes, providing Technical Leadership, and contributing to, and maintaining a customer service culture and the coaching of team members and their professional development.
  • Strong understanding of ITSM processes and procedures and contribute to their continuous improvement.
  • Ability to analyse systems issues, conduct root cause analysis, document outcomes, and contribute to Problem Management.
  • Skills to assist in prioritising permanent solutions based on documented root cause findings and develop analysis documentation for the Perm Fix Multi-disciplinary Team (MDT).
  • Proven ability to work with key IT and business stakeholders to manage and prioritise issues, determine appropriate work outputs in both business as usual and project context.
  • Proven experience in business analysis techniques to record problems and document implementation needs within DHA’s existing development framework.
  • Ability to evaluate existing processes and procedures, contributing to continuous improvement through the development of policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills, analytical and conceptual skills including experience in managing and resolving issues.
