Our client is seeking to engage an Assistant Director - Management AccountantLocation: Canberra, ACTContract: 2 monthsPay Rate to the Candidate:$78.87/Hour + Super.Eligibility/Security Requirement: Cleared Police CheckJob DescriptionThe Management Accountant provides support to the to the Senior Director, Finance, and the Executive Branch Manager, Corporate.The role includes preparing the annual ACT Courts and Tribunal budget in TM1, financial analysis and forecasting, financial advice on a range of financial issues, financial performance, and management.A range of external reporting including preparing financial data for inclusion in the Report on Government Services (ROGS), Commonwealth Grants Commission (CGC), and Jervis Bay Territory (JBT) budget and acquittal processes.Internal reporting includes monthly financial management reports and analysis, TM1 data entry and variance analysis, monthly Business Unit reporting, financial statement analysis, and quarterly Statement of Performance (SOP) reporting.The Management Accountant provides financial advice and guidance to chief judicial officers, the executive management group, and staff.WHAT YOU WILL DOUnder the general direction of the Senior Director, Finance the Management Accountant will:
- Develop, update, and maintain financial management reporting models for internal stakeholders including the Executive Leadership Group, Business Unit managers and JACS Strategic Finance e.g. business unit reporting, Statement of Performance and Private Public Partnership contract.
- Develop, update, and maintain internal budget model and reporting including budget preparation and assumptions, costings and forecasting, budget vs actual reconciliation and variance explanations.
- Enter and upload the annual internal budget for Departmental and Territorial accounts in TM1 and make adjustments as required.
- Develop, update, and maintain reporting models and reporting for external stakeholders such as Commonwealth agencies e.g. ROGS and CGC.
- Collaborate with the Senior Director, Finance to produce business case modelling and costings as part of annual budget process. Provide advice and support to the chief judicial officers, the executive leadership group, and staff on a range of financial issues and on budget preparation and management.
- Use various systems e.g. TM1 and Oracle, to generate reports to analyze and reconcile various general ledger accounts for month and year end processes. Assist the Senior Director, Finance with Financial Statement analysis and note disclosures. Arrange for journals to be performed as necessary.
- Contribute to the production of the annual Budget Book to provide guidance to Business Units on annual budgets, coding of expenses and historical records of changes.
- Review and develop procedures to ensure remain contemporary.
- Ensure compliance with financial management guidelines, statutory reporting and other legislation requirements and timeframes.
- Undertake other financial tasks as required.
- Maintain records in accordance with the Territory Records Act 2002.
- This position does not involve direct supervision of staff.
- Comprehensive experience and understanding of corporate services operating systems.
