Join our laboratory team - Are you interested in assistance with obtaining a Certificate III in Laboratory Skills through a two-year traineeship program. Our laboratory positions are perfect for you! You'll work in air-conditioned labs, evaluating the quality and content of sugar in cane and other factory products.

• Juice Chemist - this is primarily responsible for performing juice analysis for cane payment to our farmers. You will work a continuous shift roster which will include working weekends and some overtime can be expected.

• Control Chemist - this is primarily responsible for analysis of factory products for optimisation, control and data entry of this information into Databank. You will work a continuous shift roster which will include working weekends and some overtime can be expected.

• Day Chemist - this is primarily responsible for analysis on the Process area of the mill, so focusses on filter mud, bagasse and sugar. You will work a day work roster which may include working overtime on weekends.

As a Burdekin Region employee, the successful applicants would be required to commence or finish work on time at any Burdekin Regional work site depending on the needs of the business.
For all roles, first preference is for applicants who are willing to complete an entire crushing season which generally runs from June through to December.
Other skills or tickets, such as High Risk Work Licence, Tafe Modules, or HR Drivers' Licence may be viewed favourably, so please ensure these form part of your application.
A requirement of the recruitment process is to complete a pre-employment medical which includes a urine drug and alcohol screen, physical and medical assessment.
