An exciting opportunity for a 1st year boilermaker apprentice to excel in completing their cert III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade. Working as a member of the production team, the Apprentice Boilermaker uses hand-welding equipment and/or semi-automated equipment to weld or join metal construction and fabrication components, safely, to quality and time specifications and standards. The successful candidate will be motivated and have a passion for the fabrication trade.
Key Responsibilities Read drawings, work orders and production schedules to determine product or job instructions and specifications. Competently and safely operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal using gas shielded metal arc. Competently and safely set up and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment, grinders and carbon rod gauging Label and sort manufactured plate material into product groups Mark-out, cut/drill/punch holes as required for plate material in accordance with fabrication drawings.
