Established in 1983, CEA is a private Australian company specialising in the design, development, and manufacture and through life support of radar, missile illumination and communications technologies. We work in partnership with Defence industry and Government to provide cost-effective solutions and in service support capabilities. CEA has existing facilities distributed across Australia, with growth occurring both domestically and overseas.
The Position
CEA is seeking motivated individuals who are keen to gain the skills and knowledge required to qualify as an Electronics Technician. Our Electronics Technician Apprentices are employed on a 4 year fixed term contract which will see you:
• Attend the nominated tertiary education provider as required (one day a week); record skills gained in a timely manner (Ready Skills evidence) and pass all required subjects for qualification as an Electronics Technician
• Participate in rotational placements, as determined by the Apprentice Supervisor
• Participate in learning activities and formal assessment (CIT or CEA led) to build technical skills and meet the formal training plan requirements. Weekly tutoring attendance as required
• Achieve and consistently apply knowledge of safety, security and quality procedures that contribute to business sustainability
• Perform other related duties as required
About You
You are curious to learn how things work, and have the drive, dedication, and self-motivation to continuously improve products, processes and performance. You have reliable hand/eye coordination and good observational and problem-solving skills.
You have a sound understanding of maths, at a minimum of Year 10 level, and be able and willing to continue your learning throughout the 4-year Apprenticeship and into the future. You have consistent and comprehensive attention to detail and can maintain work focus regardless of location, noise or other activity surrounding you. You are a good and effective communicator, able to work and learn collaboratively as a member of a team.
You are a team player who can be relied on to do what you commit to doing to the best of your ability and within the time frames provided. You take responsibility and deliver on the tasks allocated to you and support your team mates to help them do the same so your whole team achieves the goals. You are honest and transparent in everything you do; you take pride in your work, reliably attending your classes and work time, and actively contribute to the productive and professional working environment.

• Sound proficiency in Maths (year 10 level or above)
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
• Reliable self-starter who enjoys learning new things and finding opportunities to improve
