The Tasmanian Automotive Chamber of Commerce (TACC) has a 90-year history, a progressive future and are a division of the Victorian Automotive Chamber of Commerce (VACC). 

TACC are the leading advocacy and member organisation representing automotive businesses in Tasmania.  We provide our members with support in Industrial Relations, OHS&E, apprenticeship services, technical support and a range of OurAuto business commercial products.      

Our commercial arm, OurAuto, offers the latest technical information and business solutions, under the Our Auto brand, including diagnostic tools, insurance, digital marketing, solutions and website development and a suite of business consumables. About The Role

This is a fabulous role whereby you help select & guide young people from school into the next stage of their lives and mentor them to engage in their career in the Automotive Industry. 

The Field Manager role supports apprentices and trainees through the lifecycle of their automotive apprenticeship. Some of those responsibilities include; 

  • Building relationships with school stakeholders in order to enlighten students on automotive apprenticeship and trainee opportunities
  • Building rapport and trust with the apprentice and their host employer with a focus on addressing workplace, learning or personal obstacles that may have an impact on successful outcomes.
  • Promoting TACC Auto Apprenticeships Group Training to host employers.
  • Working with registered training organisations to ensure apprentices receive appropriate support and guidance.
  • Identifying talent, recruitment, pre-assessment testing, supervision, and work placement for new TACC Apprentices
  • Monitor performance and training progress of each apprentice to ensure unit competency completion in line with the requirements of the training contract.
  • Provide mentoring and counselling support during the course of the apprenticeship
  • Manage Apprentices work cover claims, absence due to illness and return to work situations where required.

About You

Ideally based in Hobart, there will be a requirement for the successful candidate to travel across the state. 

You need to be a people person with emotional intelligence, hold an Australian automotive trade qualification or are from an allied industry with either supervisory or training experience. 

A clear communicator, with a passion for helping businesses and apprentices succeed while building relationships through trust and respect. You'll need to be self motivated, level headed, highly organised and enjoy achieving key performance indicators.       

Cert IV OHS or higher qualification, a current valid driver's license and Working with Children Card and the Right to Work in Australia are essential.
