Our client, Iluka Resources, an international mineral sands company with expertise in exploration, mining, processing, and land rehabilitation is seeking an apprentice Mechanical Fitter to join the hard-working team at their Cataby operations.
About the role:
You will work as part of a professional team, assisting qualified tradespeople in duties such as fitting, assembly, manufacturing, installation, modification, testing, fault finding, maintenance and servicing of mechanical equipment and machinery.
This will be a highly sought-after apprenticeship and successful candidates must possess the following minimum requirements.
To be successful for this role you will:
- Be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or hold a relevant right to work visa
- Have completed, at a minimum, year 10
- Be at least 17 years of age
- Have a can-do attitude, be reliable, passionate, and self-motivated
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Be committed to your on the job learning and formal off-the job training
- Possess strong safety awareness
- Require a current National Police Clearance; OR must have obtained one prior to offer of employment being made
- Hold a current Driver’s Licence
- Have the ability to pass and complete a vigorous 3-step onboarding process which includes pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol testing
- Ideally have a Mechanical pre-apprenticeship
- Ideally be local to Cataby or surrounding areas

Roster: Fulltime 9-day fortnight progressing to a swing roster of 7 days on, 7 days off
