This business is seeking an experienced Permitting and Approvals Manager with in-depth knowledge of the power industry to support the development of a significant portfolio of projects.
You'll lead on navigating regulatory frameworks, obtaining necessary permits, and ensuring compliance with environmental and governmental regulations for power/hydrogen/eFuels projects.
About you
- You have an in depth understanding of the permitting process, strong communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders across the broader development and delivery teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in permitting and approvals, preferably in the power industry
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to power projects
- Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks governing renewable energy projects
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Experience with environmental impact assessments and risk assessments
- Familiarity with renewable energy and traditional power generation technologies
Preferred Skills:
- Professional certification in environmental management or regulatory affairs.
- Experience working with renewable energy projects.
- Experience in the energy industry (upstream LNG) would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of GIS and other relevant software tools would be advantageous.
Those with experience in the broader energy infrastructure and mining industry will also be considered.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation, submission, and management of permit applications.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies.
- Maintain accurate records and generate regular reports.
- Integrate permitting requirements into project timelines.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
- Identify and assess potential project sites (advantageous).
