Are you passionate about creating a greener future for Australians?

This business is seeking an experienced Permitting and Approvals Manager with in-depth knowledge of the power industry to support the development of a significant portfolio of projects.

You'll lead on navigating regulatory frameworks, obtaining necessary permits, and ensuring compliance with environmental and governmental regulations for power/hydrogen/eFuels projects.

About you

  • You have an in depth understanding of the permitting process, strong communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders across the broader development and delivery teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in permitting and approvals, preferably in the power industry
  • In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to power projects
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks governing renewable energy projects
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Experience with environmental impact assessments and risk assessments
  • Familiarity with renewable energy and traditional power generation technologies

Preferred Skills:

  • Professional certification in environmental management or regulatory affairs.
  • Experience working with renewable energy projects.
  • Experience in the energy industry (upstream LNG) would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of GIS and other relevant software tools would be advantageous.

Those with experience in the broader energy infrastructure and mining industry will also be considered.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation, submission, and management of permit applications.
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies.
  • Maintain accurate records and generate regular reports.
  • Integrate permitting requirements into project timelines.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Identify and assess potential project sites (advantageous).
