APS 5 Finance Officer

Join our dynamic federal government client as an APS 5 Finance Officer and play a crucial role in maintaining internal financial controls and driving efficiency in financial processes.
Position Duties:

• Manage internal finance system inquiries, ensuring compliance with controls.
• Develop and deliver user-focused FMIS training materials.
• Resolve system issues with ERP admin guidance.
• Recommend system/process enhancements for increased efficiency.
• Assist with monthly reporting and distribution of finance reports.
• Support Power BI report development and ad-hoc analysis.
• Ensure data integrity and security tasks under ERP admin guidance.
• Provide reception, facilities, and accounting backup during absences.
• Produce accurate financial reports and assist with Senate Estimates.
• Foster collaborative relationships with teams and stakeholders.

Selection Criteria:

• Demonstrated experience in process design/project releases and business analysis/change processes.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve system issues.
• Demonstrated initiative and ability to drive improvements in systems and procedures.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and proactive risk management.
• CA/CPA qualification or working towards it is advantageous.
