The Learning and Development Officer plays a critical role in providing support to Graytown (VIC) and Port Wakefield (SA), coordinating and contributing to the implementation of training, professional development and learning outcomes for Joint Proof and Evaluation Unit (JPEU).
The Officer will liaise with stakeholders at both sites, and possess strong communication, interpersonal skills, a strong work ethic and demonstrate a commitment to achieving organisational goals.
They will perform with limited direction to achieve learning and development objectives within an integrated workforce. They will interpret and provide advice within HR-delivery functions based on legislation, policy and procedures. They will undertake specialist research and analysis, training reviews, evaluations and assessments, and administrative support activities. The Officer will coordinate and contribute to objectives in alignment with work plans, and provide assistance on various modes of task completion. They will review the quality of work undertaken by others, and identify opportunities for training.
About our Team
P&EE Graytown and Port Wakefield carry out guided weapon and explosive ordnance testing for a range of munitions, explosive and systems. Testing captures safety and performance data of munitions which support Defence decision making. The Learning and Development Officer is critical in the administration of learning and development outcomes that underpin testing activities. The Officer will understudy and work directly for the Learning and Development Manager.
Under direction from the Learning and Development Manager, the successful candidate will be able to work with other stakeholders (within Trials Management, Explosive Ordnance Services, Data Acquisition, Range Services, Environmental Testing, Engineering, administration and compliance) to provide training support required for the conduct of Test and Evaluation activities.
Employment currently attracts a Special Defence Locality Assistance allowance of approximately $6,640.00 per annum ($255.36 per fortnight) at Port Wakefield, and $3952.00 per annum ($152.00 per fortnight) at Graytown.
