Remuneration: $27.50 per hour (plus 11% superannuation)

St John Ambulance (Vic) has been saving lives and delivering care and compassion throughout Victoria for 140 years. Our volunteers and our staff are the lifeblood of everything we do. We are currently recruiting for a Youth Development Officerto support the State Youth Manager and the State Youth Team in the development, administration and coordination of St John Youth. This role is responsible for the implementation of important elements and initiatives of the St John Youth program.
The Opportunity
St John Youth is a First Aid oriented Youth Development program targeted at young people aged 12-18 years old. The Youth Development Officer supports the State Youth Manager and the State Youth Team in the development, administration and coordination of St John Youth. This role is responsible for the implementation of important elements and initiatives of the St John Youth program. The Youth Development Officer also provides ongoing administrative support to the volunteer State Youth Manager and in the operational elements of the youth program

Key Responsibilities
- Manage youth membership and admin procedures following policies and procedures
- Coordinate State-based youth activities and training for adult leaders
- Administrative support including reporting, online content, preparing forms and meetings minutes
- Support the operational of St John Youth program through administration of membership fees, coordination of training materials and recruitment enquiries
- Providing guidance and support to school based divisions
- Ensure policies and procedures are followed
- Engage with stakeholders to develop strategies and procedures
- Review teaching and program resources
- Development and implement reward and recognition strategies
- Prepare training content for Youth and Adult Members
- Represent the State Youth manager at meeting s as required
- You will be experienced in the development of youth programs and/or education
- Experienced in engaging implementing strategies to work with young people
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in a team environment
- Excellent time management skills
- Demonstrated analytical and research skills
- Confident using the Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
