RMC-E is seeking a self-motivated and high performing individual to be part of a new organisation central to the future of maritime sustainment. The ideal candidates should be willing to challenge themselves in a dynamic work environment and effective team player.The duties of the Technical Quality Assurance Officer include:
- Provide oversight and monitoring of complex upkeep, update and upgrade tasks onboard maritime platforms
- Perform moderately complex Technical Data, publication, drawing and modelling activities and associated tasks working to agreed priorities and outcome.
- Accountable for exercising assigned technical authorities and any Technical Regulatory Authority delegations.
- Research, apply and contribute to the development of technical documentation for review.
- Apply technical knowledge and experience, understand priorities to identify, define issues and implement corrective actions.
- Build and sustain positive relationships with team members and actively participate in teamwork and group activities.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders via technical packages, reports, written correspondence, discussions and presentations.
- Assess technical packages including scoping, planning and reviewing of packages and provide recommendations for consideration.
- Assess technical packages, reports, and product and equipment performance to meet specified requirements, provide recommendations for continuous improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure safety aspects of Defence capability are considered and incorporated into Technical Data, publications, drawings and modelling activities and tasks.
- Develop and maintain technical knowledge of relevant processes, packages, product and equipment.
RMC-E is playing a central role to implement Plan Galileo, which sets out an ambitious but achievable reform program for surface fleet sustainment. Realising the Plan will ensure Defence can support the significantly larger and more complex fleet of vessels that results from Continuous Naval Shipbuilding. It will also enhance Navy’s agility and ability to surge from strategic locations across Australia, particularly to key operational areas in the Pacific. Development of sovereign sustainment capability is key, so Defence has the workforce, systems, tools, supply chains and infrastructure to support the future fleet. The team will oversee the maintenance provider for a new Defence regional maintenance centre, coordinating and scheduling maintenance for Navy vessels, as well building resilient local and regional supply chains working with large, distributed and high profile team. RMC-E will contribute to the delivery of continuous sustainment to the complex naval capability resulting from Continuous Naval Shipbuilding and ensure Navy respond to changing operational requirements.Our Ideal Candidate
