The National Disability Data Asset and the Australia’s Disability Strategy – Data and Reporting Teams in the Disability Reforms and Royal Commission Group are looking for Data Analysts and Data Communicators. These roles present a unique opportunity to utilise analytical and technical skills and/or use your highly developed communication skills to understand and clearly communicate technical concepts to the disability community in a supportive team environment.
The APS 6 Data Analyst contributes to complex reporting using research and Data analysis skills to provide data insights and analytical evidence, enabling effective decision-making in reporting.
Successful candidates will commit to and influence data improvement activities, which includes the ADS Outcomes Framework, as well as reviewing and updating of the ADS Data Improvement Plan. The will have the opportunity to work on policies and programs that provide targeted supports and services for people with disability and carers. This includes policy related to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), Disability Employment Services (DES) and Australia’s Disability Strategy 2021-31.
The APS 6 Data Communicator will contribute to public communications about the National Disability Data Asset. This includes supporting engagement with the disability community and supporting the community to be actively involved in the design and development of the National Disability Data Asset.

Eligibility / Additional Requirements:
To be eligible for employment with Department of Social Services (the department), you must be an Australian citizen. An applicant's suitability for employment with the Department will be assessed through a pre-employment screening process. This will include an identity and criminal history background check.
Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance:
The suitable applicant must also obtain and maintain a security clearance conducted by the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA).
Applicants also must be able to establish their background as checkable to be considered eligible for a security clearance. Any gaps or periods of time spent overseas for 12 or more months (cumulative) that cannot be verified by an Australian referee is deemed uncheckable, rendering the applicant ineligible for a security clearance. Background history must cover 5 / 10 years (Baseline / Negative Vet 1 or Negative Vet 2) of employment, education, residential, criminal history and anything else specified by the AGSVA. The suitable applicant must be willing to disclose all relevant and required information to fulfil this process.
