Your new role
As a Marketing Tourism Officer, you will be part of the Marketing & Communications team and report to the Marketing Campaigns Officer. You will assist in the development and execution of tourism initiatives that encourage visitation to the department, and assist in the development of promotional campaigns that promote public programs and temporary exhibitions.
The duties of this position include:
- Assist with the planning, development, execution and evaluation of tourism campaigns and tourism promotion of events, public programs and exhibitions including development of promotional material and content.
- Assist with the implementation of the tourism strategy.
- Provide administrative support for the Marketing & Communications team including invoicing, customer enquiry tracking, minute taking, lighting requests.
- Assisting with social media, electronic direct marketing and website updates when required and assist the team on busy coin release days.
- Tasks and project work as required.
What you'll need to succeed
Previous experience in a similar role within the APS will put you in a good position for this position. Along with this experience, you will bring:
- A degree or diploma in marketing, tourism, communications or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing tourism campaigns and promotions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce engaging and persuasive content for various audiences and channels
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- A high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- A positive and proactive attitude, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
