Branch:
The Internal Reviews and Complaints Branch is the central point of coordination for the Agency's handling and resolution of reviews and complaints. Working directly with participants, providers, internal staff and external agencies, the branch aims to manage and resolve reviews and complaints in a timely manner as outlined in the Agency Service Charter.
The Internal Review Team (IRT) delivers a streamlined approach to manage the participant experience of Internal Reviews and the Agency's reputation. The IRT assists participants who seek Internal Reviews and make decisions that are timely, consistent and clearly explained.
About the role:
The APS5 Internal Review Officer is accountable under general direction to undertake moderately complex activities and tasks within established procedures and guidance. It will have a considerable level of contact with internal and external stakeholders. You will be required to apply well-established policy, principles, practices, and procedures to achieve outcomes that supports and contributes to Agency's objectives.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Working with participants to gather information regarding the nature and context of review requests, informing participants and their representatives about decisions, reviews and the appeals process.
- Undertaking evidence-based decision making as prescribed in the Agency Act, Agency rules, Operational Guidelines and Agency policies.
- Monitoring and managing caseloads, ensuring Internal Reviews are completed within set timeframes.
- Contributing to quality improvement activities to enhance service delivery practice, processes and systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding of NDIS Act
- Internal Review experience
- Current Police Check, o ability to obtain one.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in building relationships both with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work within and across teams, the ability to adapt quickly to a changing environment
- Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information.
- Ability to prioritise and allocate tasks in an efficient manner while also maintaining high work standards and accuracy.
