The Opportunity
Our client is looking for a skilled APS5 System Administrator to join the Information Systems Department. Working within a team of 7, including 3 System Administrators, the role encompasses Level 1, 2, and 3 IT requests, providing exposure to a wide range of tasks, including Audio-Visual responsibilities.

With a focus on Level 3 technical support, the role provides exposure to diverse projects and initiatives. The Role
As a System Administrator you will play a crucial role in:
- Monitor data-centre health, promptly responding to hardware issues as they arise
- Participate in IT change management processes, actively contributing to problem and issue management
- Maintain internal infrastructure, overseeing computers, servers, routers, firewalls, printers, and phones
- Conduct routine audits of all systems, ensuring backups are executed efficiently
- Assist in onboarding new staff and facilitate ICT relocations as necessary
- Engage in rotational weekend on-call roster duties as required. This does include an occasional 6am start
You are currently at the APS3 or APS4 level, and actively seeking opportunities to elevate your career by gaining wider exposure to a range of technical support requests. Alternatively, you may be transitioning from the commercial sector, you harbor a keen interest in making a significant impact within the APS. You will also have:
- 1-2 years of valuable experience in IT help desk roles, you bring practical knowledge and hands-on expertise to the position
- Recognition and appreciation of the positive benefits from a diverse work environment are integral to your mindset
- Systematic analysis is your forte, showcasing a keen intellect in tackling objectives
Salary / Rate
- $70,000 + 15.4% Super
