Your new role
As a Senior Advisor, you will lead in media, crisis communications, and public affairs. Your role will involve strategising, content creation, and data-driven decision-making. You will support senior leadership and ministerial offices, providing high-level expertise.
- Offer media and communications advice to achieve the agency's strategic goals.
- Create media and communication products for various platforms, including strategies and speeches for top officials.
- Manage media enquiries, acting as a liaison to provide timely information and responses.
- Engage in issues management and deliver sensitive projects affecting the agency's strategic outcomes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across government levels to implement new measures and projects.
- Participate in the on-call roster, support senior leadership, and maintain strong team relationships.
What you'll need to succeed
- Australian citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Federal Government Security Clearance (baseline, NV1, or NV2).
- Experience in journalism, government media, communications, or crisis management.
- Demonstrated ability in media handling, crisis communication, and public affairs.
- Capacity to work effectively in dynamic and high-pressure situations.
- Strong organisational skills and adeptness at managing concurrent priorities.
