Form of workOur client, a statutory Government agency, is seeking actuaries and/or data scientists with 4-7 years of data analytics experience to join their team. This role can be based in Sydney, Melbourne, Geelong, or Canberra.
About the role
- Extracting, cleansing and preparing data from multiple sources, and advising on appropriate data checks for reasonableness.
- Updating and developing regular performance monitoring.
- Utilising and assisting in designing statistical and mathematical modelling techniques to undertake analytical work on a range of tasks, including actuarial monitoring and analyses, data tabulations, scheme projects and cost benefit analyses.
- Undertaking ad hoc modelling requests and report production as required.
About you
- Must be an Australian citizen.
- 4-7 years of data analytics / scientist experience.
- Advanced R programming skills including data manipulation, package development etc.
- Understanding of modelling techniques including GLMs, and GBMs.
- Proficient SQL / SAS programming.
- Relevant academic qualifications including tertiary qualifications in Actuarial Studies or Mathematics/Statistics, as well as progressing towards Associate and/or Fellowship qualifications for actuarial.
- Leadership experience working with small teams.
