The Inventory and Materials Manager supports the Assistant Director, Planning and Inventory in the day-to-day management of matters relating to the accurate inventory management of materials to support an electoral event.The role is responsible for undertaking work that is moderately complex to complex and/or sensitive in nature, under limited direction, utilizing expertise, and knowledge within the area of supply chain management. The role will also participate in section planning and aligning longer term plans with agency goals and objectives.Key position responsibilities:
- Manage materials inventory, including management of the catalogue, inventory forecasting and warehouse stock holdings.
- Assist in the development of the supply chain procurement plan and evaluation of tenders/quotes.
- Provide analysis on complex issues and contribute to the management, preparation, and coordination of policy formulation and/or project management.
- May be required to supervise a team to ensure high quality outputs, including the development of team members at lower classifications, building team capacity, and encouraging career development.
- Develop and support key internal and external relationships, including managing stakeholders to achieve work area and agency goals. In addition, represent the agency by promoting its interests in various forums.
- Provide accurate specialist advice, guidance and reporting on team functional responsibilities.
- Make and communicate decisions using good judgement, expertise and knowledge, governed by legislation, regulations, best practice principles or relevant operating instructions and procedures.
- Ability to time manage and prioritize activity workflows in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated high level of numeracy and reporting ability and advanced computer skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage staff while developing capabilities, encouraging career development, and promoting professionalism.
- High level skills in written and verbal communication, and proven ability to communicate to a wide range of stakeholders (internal and external) across a geographically dispersed network.
- Proven analytical abilities with the ability to propose and facilitate change and contribute to business improvement strategies.
- A sound understanding of the PGPA.
- Experience in procurement, financial analysis, and reporting.
- High level skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
