Our client is seeking to engage an APS6 Project Support Officer on a contract for 3 months.
To be successful in the role, Project Managers:
- Plan, organise, control and coordinate projects for the Department.
- Are accountable for day-to-day project functions such as resourcing, scheduling, prioritisation and task coordination.
- Are responsible for meeting project milestones, objectives and deliverables within agreed time frames and budgets, using correct methodologies in the process.
- Ensure effective project delivery and prevention of potential issues by implementing well-thought-out risk management and contingency plans.
- Utilise their knowledge of the systems and processes they are working with and their stakeholder relationships and networks to constantly keep the project on track throughout its lifecycle, using their expertise to promptly resolve or appropriately escalate issues as they arise.
- Plan for and undertake the successful transition or closure of services.
- Provide secretariat support including managing a group mailbox and assist with record keeping to ensure the appropriate oversight, tracking, performance monitoring and decision making for a program/project.
- Assist with timely and transparent reporting on the project to a variety of stakeholders.
- Support other functions within the team to design and tailor communications and messaging for a broad range of stakeholders.
- Assist with planning, coordinating and running meetings and provide secretariat responsibility or functions as required.
- Demonstrate ethical behaviour and integrity to enhance team culture and contribute to a positive workplace.
- Promote and champion an inclusive and diverse workplace culture and ensure all staff are valued and recognised for their qualities, ideas and perspectives.
- A minimum of Baseline (Protected) level security clearance.
- Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC) preferred.
- Advanced user in using Microsoft Project. Formal qualifications or accreditation in project or program management also desirable.
