Our client is seeking to engage a Facilities Manager on a contract for 6 months.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working with a high degree of autonomy, the day-to-day duties of the role include:
Leadership and team management:
- Managing, motivating, and leading the team in the delivery of their work, including interactions with students, staff, and external parties, in a way that demonstrates the CIT cultural traits and the broader Public Service values and signature behaviours.
- Taking a lead role in the development of local workforce attraction, retention, and succession strategies to ensure the professional development and continuity of the CIT Facilities Team.
- Leading capability initiatives that will support the CIT Facilities Team in transitioning to a new Woden Campus model, specifically in implementing building modifications to support any changes to teaching and learning practices and the analysis of data to inform costs savings measures in facilities management.
- Liaising and negotiating with other Government agencies, Commonwealth authorities and service contractors to effectively deliver on Facilities related activity.
- Working collaboratively with the Senior Manager, Facilities and CIT's strategic finance and procurement teams to ensure robust, transparent, and effective procurement, project and contract management.
- Representing the CIT Facilities team across internal CIT committees and forums and cross-government project and/or working groups as directed.
- Preparing and submitting the annual requirements in respect of Maintenance and Minor New Works programs ensuring compliance with relevant standards in consultation with the Senior Manager, CIT Facilities.
- Supporting the development of robust, informed and fit for purpose policy, procedure and practices in consultation with the Senior Manager, CIT Facilities.
- Working collaboratively with the CIT Work Health and Safety team on the seamless delivery of services, including incident coordination and response and proactive risk management of CIT's physical environments.
- Preparing submissions and correspondence for internal, government and external audiences.
- This position does involve direct supervision of three Campus Managers and indirect supervision of six Estate staff.
Professional / Technical Skills and Knowledge required -
- Demonstrated experience in facilities, campus and general estate management and knowledge of legislative requirements relating to facilities, work health and safety and emergency coordination and management.
- High level communication, negotiation and liaison skills, including the ability to engage with a broad and diverse audience from students to senior personnel from government departments and private enterprise.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate, lead and support a small dynamic team in a customer service focussed environment.
- Demonstrated ability to connect and align operational delivery with strategic direction and build enduring networks to support positive performance and culture.
- Demonstrated capacity to be responsive, manage a diverse workload with competing priorities and contribute to and support various activities across the Institute.
- Extensive customer service experience with a strong focus on customer centric practices.
- Demonstrated ability to model the CIT cultural traits and Public Service values and signature behaviours, knowledge of and the ability to work in accordance with, and implement agreed CIT policy and principles, respect, equity and diversity (RED), work health and safety (WHS) and workplace participation.
- Highly Desirable - drivers' licence
- Highly Desirable - Significant operational experience in a facilities management function, specifically in coordinating building, grounds and plant equipment maintenance works.
- Desirable - qualifications and/or significant experience in Facilities Management and/or trade qualifications in building and construction, building design or mechanical systems.
- Successful applicant will be required to obtain a cleared Police Check.
