Aps6 Review Officer

Our Federal Government client has a great opportunity for a Review Officer at the APS6 level within their Internal Review and Appeals team.  The position is for three months with the possibility of extensions. The Internal Review and Appeals Team is responsible for conducting statutory reviews of decisions to ensure the integrity of national qualifications issued by training providers, fostering confidence in the Department’s decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implementing a stewardship approach to ongoing regulatory reform
• Maintaining effective partnerships
• Providing regulatory policy advice
• Collecting, analysing, interpreting, and disseminating data and information relating to vocational education and training
• Undertaking reviews of internal decisions and managing cases in dispute in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal

About the Role:

As a Review Officer, you will play a pivotal role in a small cross functional team conducting statutory reviews of decisions. Your responsibilities will include:

• Assessing and preparing applications for review of decisions made under applicable legislation
• Engaging with providers to understand the reasons for review applications and ensuring the best evidence is presented
• Preparing well-reasoned decisions for internal review applications, including extensions of time and stay applications
• Supporting validation activities to ensure assessment tools produce valid, reliable, sufficient, current, and authentic evidence for reasonable judgments

Qualifications and Skills:

• Excellent analytical and decision-making skills
• Effective communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
• Experience in regulatory environments or similar fields
• Must be Australian Citizen
• Baseline Clearance is preferred

On Offer:

• 3 months + possible extensions
• Hybrid model
• $60 p/h + super
