SalaryTreasury's Data Administration Team in the Integration Unit are seeking a self-motivated and positive SQL Server Database Administrator to expand their Azure Data Platform operational experience.About the Role:We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the Data Administration team in the Integration Unit to work with various data tools and platforms that Treasury use as we update our database platform technology mix.This role provides an excellent career opportunity, whilst you provide solutions to business problems using on-prem and Cloud technologies, as well as performing regular maintenance and optimisation tasks. We're looking for someone who is self-motivated and positive and who will support the Integration Unit's role in executing our strategic plan.The SQL Server Database Administrator will work with the team to expand our Azure Data Platform operational experience, while also maintaining and improving our on-premises SQL Server installations. The Database Administrator will interact with a diverse range of business and technical stakeholders and work with various systems across the Department as part of the team. The Database Administrator will collaborate with Application Developers and the SharePoint team as we share skills among our staff.Position Duties:
- Administer and manage Treasury's Microsoft SQL Server instances including highly available clusters and various “As A Service” deployment models of SQL Server in Azure.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of our BAU processes across all platforms.
- Monitor support queues for BAU work.
- Support and upgrade database components of complex systems such as Microsoft Dynamics CRM, commercial-off-the-shelf products, and bespoke in-house applications.
- Collaborate with internal support teams and vendors to deliver outcomes that meet the business needs.
- Demonstrated skills in configuration and administration of all major components of Microsoft SQL Server, including Integration and Analysis Services with SQL Server Management Studio and Transact SQL (T-SQL).
- Experience in monitoring health and performance of Microsoft SQL Server instances to proactively identify and resolve critical events to ensure high availability, performance, and security compliance.
- Experience in troubleshooting database related issues and outages.
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills, and ability to maintain close, positive working relationships with other support teams and service providers.
- Tertiary qualifications in ICT or a related field and/or equivalent experience as a Database Administrator (2+ years).
- PowerShell scripting expertise.
- Experience in the Azure Data Platform.
- Working with R and RStudio or Python.
