Hays Healthcare are partnering with the Federal Government Department who are looking for an APS6 Technical Advisor to join their Technical Advisory Branch on a 12-month contract. The Technical Advisory branch provides specialist technical/clinical and operational advice in relation to complex cases in line with relevant policies and legislation. The branch plays a critical role in providing support and building the capability of the team to make complex decisions where technical or clinical advice is required.
Your new role
The APS6 Technical Advisor is required to provide technical, professional, policy and operational support and advice across a range of complex problems. The successful applicant will be required to undertake the following responsibilities:
• Provide subject matter expertise using a coaching/mentoring approach, advising with appropriate supports to achieve participant outcomes
• Initiative sensitive conversations associated with funding approval
• Work with a range of stakeholders, delegates and providers to reach outcomes
• This position has reasonable autonomy and accountability to exercise initiative and judgement to interpret legislation and policy, in the application of practices and procedures to achieve outcomes within the functions
• This is a team membership position that may require you to perform work that involves team leadership and management responsibilities
What you'll need to succeed
• Position requires a tertiary qualification and experience working within one of the following areas: Occupational Therapy, Prosthetics and Orthotics, Speech Pathology, Physiotherapy, Psychology, Registered Nursing (with AHPRA), Social Work, Mental Health Practitioners or Specialists Behavioural Support Practitioners
• In-depth knowledge of relevant statutory, regulatory and policy frameworks to provide objective advice and resolve complex problems
• Experience communicating and negotiating with clients or stakeholders under limited direction
• Eligibility to work for the Australian Federal Government
• Obtain or willing to obtain NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working With Children Check, National Police Clearance and Federal Clearance
