How you’ll make a difference
This role is responsible for arboriculture activities including pruning & maintenance and improvements of parks, landscaped and recreation areas within the City's open space regions and road network.
As an Arboriculturist with the City, you will be responsible for:
- Undertaking arboriculture maintenance and improvements of our high-profile foreshore parks, landscaped and recreation areas.
- Operating and maintaining plant and equipment including trucks, chippers, elevated work platforms and general arboriculture equipment.
- Participating in identified training programs to increase skills and knowledge, contributing to the continual improvement of the section.
Please note that climbing is not a requirement of the position – these activities are performed by contractors.
What you bring to your new role
- Certificate II in Arboriculture (or higher) or a related discipline.
- C Class (or higher) Unrestricted Drivers Licence
- WHS General Construction Induction Card (white card)
- You take pride in your work and have a passion for our City and continuously improving your landscaping skills.
- You have high-level customer service and communication skills, a can-do attitude and thrive in a team environment.
- You possess a high level of motivation and adaptability, with the ability to prioritise work and multi-task in a dynamic environment.
- You have a working knowledge of arboriculture practices with practical experience in tree maintenance and tree removals
- You possess sound physical health in order to satisfactorily perform the physically demanding duties of the position
