The Opportunity
The Centre Manager is based at the Turner Institute for Brain and Mental Health on the Clayton campus of Monash University, and is responsible for managing the operational, logistical and financial activities of the Industrial Transformation Training Centre (ITTC). The successful candidate will be a member of the ITTC Executive, with accountability for the day to day running of the Centre and supporting the development and implementation of the Centre's strategic planning and delivery. The Centre Manager will assist in building a collaborative framework across the three faculties involved at Monash University (Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences; Engineering; IT), Federation University, and external partners.
As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for developing relationships and building new networks with major national and international centres and research programs, and coordinating interaction between the University and industry collaborators. The Centre Manager will perform a wide and complex range of research management activities leading to the achievement of research objectives and is accountable for establishing effective measurement and reporting mechanisms compliant with the Australian Research Council (ARC) funding rules.
In addition, the Centre Manager will oversee the implementation of the Doctoral and Postdoctoral training program that is to be developed through the ITTC, liaising with industry and university representatives to ensure timely delivery of the international leading research training, and overseeing industry placements.
We are seeking a highly motivated candidate with:
- Postgraduate qualifications and extensive, relevant experience in managing large academic groups; or
- Extensive experience and management expertise; or
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
