Job DescriptionThe Area Technical Manager (ATM) is the technical leader in the movements area of the refinery, managing key process units of the diesel hydrotreater, bitumen manufacturing complex and critical refinery infrastructure including crude tanks, high pressure pipelines and Jetty.
As the ATM you will manage a team of engineers working closely with a multi-disciplinary Asset Team (operations, maintenance and technical) and with the refinery field operators, panel operators and our commercial team.
In this role you will be active in the day to day operations, developing and designing process improvements enhancing profitability, reliability and safety, working alongside a strong team of experienced engineers and leaders will support you, helping you to grow technically and professionally.
QualificationsWe are seeking curious individuals, motivated to innovate and solve problems in a more cost effective manner than the obvious or traditional methods. Your curiosity will see you focused on safety, driving change and innovation.
- Currently hold an engineering qualification and have at least 5 years of (petro) chemical experience as an operational process engineer or similar.
- You will be highly analytical.
- Have demonstrated technical engineering skills, excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Possess strong IT Capabilities across Process simulation software and Plant data extract tools, as well as Excel and Word.
- Be comfortable influencing through others, engaging stakeholder across all levels and leading change.
- Demonstrable experience in identifying areas for improvement and working with technical areas outside of your expertise, making key decisions to improve the reliability and integrity of our assets.
