Twilight Aged Care is a stand-alone not-for-profit service with a rich history spanning over 100 years.
Employing over 300 dedicated staff, they provide high quality residential aged care for more than 200 men and women in 5 homes across Northern Sydney – Gordon, Mosman, Dural, Hunters Hill and Gladesville.
The Role
An Art Therapist is responsible for providing engaging and meaningful artistic experiences for our residents, with a focus on socializing and inclusivity Your duties include:
- Meet residents and arrange activities with residents related to their needs, wants and preferences
- Planning and facilitating group Art Therapy sessions and maintaining the workshop and equipment
- Run 1 on 1 sessions with residents upon request
- Prepare program for sessions
- Encourage a degree of emotional intimacy with resident
- Update activities chart with documentation relevant to session provided
- Coordinating and assisting the facilitation of the Annual Twilight Art Show
- Work in a safe manner
- Promote Art Therapy program throughout internal Twilight community and beyond
- Escort and assist residents moving to come to the Art Therapy session
- Conducts self in a manner consistent with the policies and aims in the employee’s handbook
- Establishes and maintains harmonious relations with other employees and the wider community
- Contributes to continuous improvement processes

- Working across our 5 sties
- Working hours will generally be 9-5
- Reporting to our Art Therapy Manager
About you
Demonstrating experience in a similar role, you will treat residents in a respectful and courteous manner. Further, you will have:
- NDIS Clearance and/or police
- Previous experience working in community or aged care would be highly regarded
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, and interpersonal skills
- Work at any Twilight home as per operational requirements of the organisation
- Maintain up to date knowledge in areas of practice and responsibility and participate in own professional development and organizational requirements
