South Australia Police are seeking a Senior Technical Security Specialist on a fixed term until July 2025

Your new role

As the Senior Technical Security Specialist, you will be responsible for providing Leadership of critical IT security functions within SA Police. You will also be responsible for providing security-related expertise in security consulting, advisory, analysis and facilitation, as well as bringing expert knowledge across Technical Security, threat, and risk assessments to support new and current projects, and IT operations.

What you'll need to succeed

Mandatory for being successful as a Senior Technical Security Specialist:

• Ability and willingness to undertake a Police record check.
• Have an Australian Government Baseline clearance, or be able to obtain a Baseline clearance.
• Experience in managing or mentoring a team of cyber Security Specialists.
• Expert knowledge of current IT security controls and solutions.
• Strong risk management expertise.
• Knowledge of ISO standards and the South Australian Cyber Security Framework.
• Demonstrated advanced knowledge of some of the following:
  o Cyber security governance, risk and compliance.
  o Enterprise Security Architecture.
  o Security solutions, such as;
  - Next generation firewalls and web application firewalls
  - Intrusion prevention and detection.
  - End point management.
  - Digital certificates and PKI.
  - Traditional and cloud-based identity and access management.
  o Managing cyber incidents.
  o Vulnerability management processes.
  o Cloud security.
• Expert knowledge and experience in design, deployment, administration of security controls and configuration, device hardening and auditing.

Salary/Benefits
AS08 Senior Technical Security Specialist $119,317 - $123,822
SAPOL's IS&T offer a hybrid working arrangement under the direction of the line manager, including the ability work part of the week from home.
