We are seeking a diligent and experienced Project Officer with a strong background in environmental science and a desire to play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and safeguarding public health. The successful candidate will provide a range of project management and support services, working closely with key stakeholders to support the management and remediation of contaminated sites across Western Australia.Responsibilities:
- Oversee, monitor, and maintain project progress to ensure that outcomes are achieved on time, on budget, to regulatory standards, within agreed scope and in line with project management methodology.
- Coordinate with program managers, environmental consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies, maintaining effective relationships to facilitate on-time delivery of site assessments and/or remedial actions.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of project activities, communications, reporting, expenses, and regulatory approvals to ensure audit-ready accessibility of quality information.
- Source, collate, and analyse data and information, sharing insights with colleagues and recommending appropriate actions to address emerging issues.
- Remain informed with the latest literature and developments in environmental science and best practice technologies to further departmental understanding and inform decision making and planning.
- Develop and assist in the formation of comprehensive funding applications for site assessments and remediation strategies utilising project data in accordance to develop proposals in line with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams and/or affiliate organisations to fulfil information requests, supporting various applications and work processes.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to internal teams and external stakeholders regarding contamination issues, regulatory standards, and remediation methods.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to both internal teams and external partners to convey project information and further project progress.
- Reporting on all information matters (both operational and legislative), health and safety matters to resolve issues promptly and maintain Departmental awareness and compliance.
