Asbestos and Hazardous Materials Consultant

Occuhealth is an Occupational Hygiene Consulting company with offices in Mandurah and Belmont. We are seeking an experienced Asbestos and Hazardous Materials Consultant in Perth to join our operations.

The Asbestos and Hazardous Materials Consultant will be a key member of the Hazmat and Occupational Hygiene division. The incumbent will utilise their industry experience to provide project consulting and management in the planning and execution of projects. They will maintain and build relationships, provide exceptional service and provide accurate and timely technical advice to clients. Internally, they will also assist with the NATA Laboratory.

This hands on role includes a high degree of site work on client sites and therefore the applicant must be available to travel. Tasks include:

• Undertaking asbestos/Hazardous Materials audits /sampling, occupational hygiene, indoor air quality, and mould assessments.

• Conducting a full range of compliance air monitoring for friable and non-friable asbestos works and visual inspections during Asbestos/Hazmat remediation projects.

• Undertake NATA approved airborne asbestos fibre counting.

• Building new and maintaining existing client relationships to expand regional business opportunities and services via proactive consultancy.

• Preparing accurate reports in standard formats, including proposals and budgets.

• Ability to travel locally, regionally and interstate.

What do you need to be successful?

Essential

• Previous experience in asbestos analysis (essential).

• Licensed Asbestos Assessor; or demonstrated experience for the immediate application as a Licensed Asbestos Assessor (essential).

• Able to use Microsoft Office packages (essential)

• A current valid Driver's License.

Desirable

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field (desirable).

• Experience or knowledge within the building consultancy industry; building life cycle including design, construction, and or maintenance.

• Knowledge of Australian Standards, National Construction Code of Australia, and other relevant Codes of Practice.

• A construction industry white card or willing to obtain.
