About the Opportunity
The Capital Projects Manager reports to the Senior Manager, Capital Works and works closely with the Senior Manager and with the Capital Programs and Projects unit to manage and coordinate capital works projects in accordance with the broader Capital Projects and Technical Services, departmental policies and procedures.
The incumbent provides consultation and advisory services to a range of key clients and stakeholders based on government policy in relation to the delivery of capital works projects and specific programs.
The position exists in a constantly changing environment with regards to government procedures and processes, and technology and systems as they relate to asset management, which impacts on the delivery of:
- capital works projects
- state / national initiatives
- delivery of asset services to sites.
The incumbent will need to possess an ability to remain flexible and adaptable and work closely with the Senior Manager, Capital Works and other officers within the Capital Programs and Projects unit and Capital Projects and Technical Services directorate.
Qualification
Desirable:
Tertiary or post-secondary qualifications in a related field, e.g. Architecture, Asset Management, Project Management, Construction Management, or relevant experience.
Asset/project management experience within an educational institution.
In-charge experience delivering building projects.

Special Conditions
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) and the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

Remuneration
We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, as well as opportunities for professional development and career advancement.
ASO6: $97,022 - $102,626 per annum plus superannuation.
