Asphalt Materials Tester

Capital Asphalt is a Canberra based contractor that specialises in asphalt paving and spray seal services for Local Government, Private Contractors and Developers. We are seeking an Materials Tester for our Canberra business.

• The successful person will fill an important role of testing materials in our state of the art laboratory.

• Training will be provided to the right candidate.
 

Role
• Sampling and testing of construction materials.
• Calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment
• Ensure Laboratory NATA requirements are maintained
• Generating and reporting test results
• Accurate record keeping
• Quality Assurance & Control
• Carry out equipment calibrations
• Assist the technical team
 

Requirements
• Previous construction materials laboratory experience is preferred but not essential.
• Ideally, you will have come from a civil construction background.
• Excellent Health and Safety behaviours
• Strong literacy and numeracy skills (written & verbal)
• Understanding of computer systems for monitoring and reporting of data
• A current driver’s license
• Flexibility to work day shifts/night shifts and weekends when required
