Assembly Worker

Are you an experienced Assembly Worker with brilliant soldering skills? Our client is a well known company in the rail industry, looking to add to their team.

Roster: Monday through Friday, totalling 38 hours per week. Shift times are from 7:00 am to 3:45 pm from Monday to Thursday, and 7:00 am to 12:00 pm on Fridays. The successful candidate will be working 3 days per week until the training period is complete, at which point hours will increase to full-time.

Work Location: Keysborough

Rate: $32.73 including casual loading (based on the Manufacturing Award)

Applicants should possess proficient hand skills and precise eye-hand coordination for the assembly and adjustment of intricate mechanical components. Familiarity with soldering techniques is very advantageous.
The role of the Assembler involves the production of equipment through a combination of electrical and mechanical assembly tasks. These tasks include basic soldering, utilisation of hand and power tools, and customisation of enclosures, wire harnesses, and sub-assemblies.

Responsibilities:

• Interpret manufacturing diagrams, drawings, work orders, and assembly instructions.
• Follow assembly drawings meticulously to ensure precise control of assembly steps.
• Prepare product components for assembly and verify their quality through testing.
• Execute assemblies adhering to strict quality standards and approved manufacturing procedures.
• Inspect sub-assemblies for quality and compliance with documentation.
• Conduct ongoing quality inspections during the assembly process.
• Maintain clean and well-organised work tools and environment.
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a secure work environment.
• Undertake additional tasks as directed by the Supervisor.
• Collaborate with other assembly personnel in a cooperative, team-oriented manner.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in electronics manufacturing.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools for product assembly.
• Prior experience with hand soldering.
• Exceptional hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Ability to understand part drawings, dimensions, and tolerances.
• Capacity to work meticulously with small, detailed objects.
• Aptitude for performing tasks accurately and efficiently.
• Ability to sustain focus during repetitive tasks.
• Positive attitude towards teamwork and a willingness to learn.
