Our Asset Management Department is responsible for the centralised planning of Council’s Civil and Parks Asset Management programs, City Safety and Security functions, and oversees the majority of Council’s assets including buildings, active and passive open space areas (including sporting fields, playgrounds, parks), roads, bridges, footpaths, and drainage

About the role

Lead a team of asset officers in the delivery of asset protection activities in the road reserve, and other Council-owned or managed property, collection of asset condition data, and updating of asset information for all classes of Council assets. Drive process improvement, manage the creation and reporting of inspection programs, and develop asset inspection and protection systems and processes. Liaise with external service authorities and contractors conducting works on Council property, liaise with City Presentation, schedule works, and provide reporting as required. Respond to customer requests and promote a positive culture in the delivery of services to the community. Perform other duties as required and/or directed by the supervisor.

Essential criteria

  • Civil Engineering qualification or extensive experience in a relevant field such as Construction and Maintenance
  • Demonstrated experience in supervising a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in the use of computer applications e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and TechOne
  • Experience working with contractors and statutory authorities
  • Demonstrated dispute resolution and negotiation skills
  • Current Class C Driver Licence

Desirable criteria

  • Previous Local Government Experience
  • General Induction for Construction Work Certificate (White Card)
  • Experience in working with asset management systems and software
  • Experience in working with external contractors, developers, and residents

Salary: The salary for this position ranges from $100,424.00 - $116,244.00p.a. + 11% Superannuation, and will be negotiated commensurate with the skills, qualifications, and experience of the preferred applicant.

Access to a Leaseback Vehicle is available with this position; however, it is not a condition of employment.
