  • Exciting opportunity to work with the Asset Planning team at the City of Wanneroo
  • Full Time Permanent position
  • Salary from $115,631 to $123,253 per annum, plus superannuation

About the Position

As an important member of the Asset Planning team, reporting to the Manager Asset Planning, you will develop strategic actions and lead Asset Management improvement initiatives. You will also lead and manage the Asset Management Systems sub unit responsible for the Asset Management system and asset data management. The successful appointee will be responsible for:

  • Applying specialist (technical) expertise within the discipline of Asset Management and leads the research, development, design, implementation, and ongoing management of robust, corporate wide impact, programs and systems as it relates to operational Asset Management matters
  • Leading the sub unit to apply technical expertise to achieve efficiencies and improved service delivery outcomes
  • Accountable for the work performance, including conduct and safety, of reports within the sub unit as well as the culture and climate of the team as demonstrated through the alignment of behaviours to values
  • Providing advice and guidance to customers and stakeholders on Asset Management systems, in accordance with relevant policies, processes and procedures
  • Overseeing the development of the City's Asset Management systems in alignment with ISO 55000 standards, including Asset Management information systems and processes
  • Accountable for the maintenance of relevant registers and databases, ensuring that information is accurate, stored correctly and accessible as required and meets organisational and legislative requirements
  • Overseeing the ongoing administration and data stewardship of the City's Assetic Asset Management Information System including the configuration, integration with corporate systems and generation of reports to meet the Integrated Planning and Reporting requirements

About You

The successful appointee must be an adaptable, experienced civil engineer (or equivalent). They must also thrive working in a very busy and change driven organisation. As such, applicants must be able to demonstrate through their resume and cover letter that they meet the following capabilities:

  • Tertiary qualification in relevant discipline such as Civil Engineering (or equivalent) is required.
  • Significant experience in a similar role within a large and complex organisation
  • Experience in the use of Assetic Asset Management Information systems is desirable
  • Extensive knowledge of Asset Management principles and practices including the application of ISO 55000 Asset Management System Requirement standards
  • Extensive knowledge of Asset Management Information Systems, data management, GIS, web mapping products and GPS technology
  • Advanced organisational, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Advanced skills in the efficient utilisation of information systems and technology
