About the role

We are currently seeking an Asset Supervisor to join the Christmas Island Immigration Detention Centre (CIIDC) WA. In this role you will manage day to day tasks and projects in the facilities maintenance space with numerous contracting companies. You will oversee, delivering PM and RM maintenance to a diverse range of assets. Demonstrated strong working knowledge of and experience with the technical details of building fabric, structure and engineering services and an understanding of standards and practices is also required.

This role will enjoy the variety of differing tasks and responsibilities day to day and is a hands-on role, with manual requirements of a facilities maintenance position. The successful candidate will need to build and maintain solid internal and external relationships with key stakeholders. This is a fulltime position, working Monday – Friday with an on-call component shared between a team of 4 as required reporting to the Asset Manager.

You will be customer focused and be able to think on your feet and show initiative. Strong communication, attention to detail, planning and time management skills are key in this role. To be successful in this role you will have

  • The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour
  • Tertiary Qualifications or relevant experience in asset management, maintenance management, facilities management.
  • A full Trade Qualifications in electrical, plumbing or carpentry or relevant experience in Carpentry, Electrical or plumbing, and or other relevant trade associated disciplines
  • Significant experience in Asset Management and/or a Facilities Maintenance environment
  • Demonstrated experience in Facilities Management with a hand on approach
  • Experience in capital work proposals and RFQs would be an advantage
  • Sound knowledge of and experience in the use of Microsoft Office and CMMS programs (MEX) would be advantageous
  • Demonstrated team player skills and experience and success with managing a subcontractor’s team, including understanding individual’s strengths and weaknesses.
