We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our growing Group Assets Team based at our Head Office in Port Adelaide.

Role Overview

The Assets Electrical Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the success of our engineering projects. As Part of the Assets Engineering team you will be involved with providing electrical engineering advisory service to the business to inform asset management strategy, capital works planning and decision-making processes associated with relevant assets and infrastructure. The role will support the Electrical Engineering team in maintaining and implementing Asset Management Plans, including performing asset inspections and risk assessments, to optimise asset life cycle performance and compliance to standards, while balancing safety, cost and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation and gathering of data to inform capital works planning and support processes associated with relevant assets / infrastructure;
  • Assisting with the implementation of infrastructure maintenance programs to ensure assets are performing to meet required levels of service in a safe, efficient and reliable manner;
  • Monitoring of asset performance and levels of service to ensure regular feedback is provided into the planning process;
  • Contribute towards the development and prioritisation of project and program briefs incorporating the relevant asset outcomes, scoping budgets etc;
  • Project management and delivery of minor capital and non-routine maintenance projects;
  • Assisting in the management of technical risk via technical specifications, risk assessments, project and program delivery support, application and definition of appropriate standards / etc;
  • Participation in tender preparation and engineering evaluations;
  • Work in conjunction with the Assets and Engineering team to provide advice on management of facilities, risk, technology, process enhancement and business opportunities;
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, reports and forecasts, ensuring they are presented in a timely manner as required;
  • Strengthen customer relationships (both internal and external) by acting as a point of contact regarding electrical engineering services; and
  • Other tasks as required relevant to the experience and role.

About you

Your skills and experience will include:

  • Demonstrated ability to manage the forward planning and implementation of asset outcomes, and practically apply contemporary technical product knowledge and budgetary and resource allocation skills; 
  • Experience using assets and engineering systems and software including Maximo(desirable) and Microsoft suite;
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and analytical mindset with the ability to think creatively to develop practical solutions to overcome challenges;
  • High level attention to detail and organisation skills with a proactive and diligent approach, demonstrating an ability to plan and undertake multiple projects concurrently; and
  • Highly developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication, stakeholder consultation, and collaboration skills.
