We have an exciting opportunity within the recently acquired Sykes Pumps, a company within the Portable Flow pillar of the Power and Flow division. As the Design and Quality Engineer you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products. You will lead the Design and Quality assurance efforts, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and deliver superior products to our customers.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with suppliers to identify quality gaps and implement improvement strategies.
- Develop inspection methods to analyse product quality.
- Recommend changes based on failure reports and feedback channels.
- Prepare reports summarizing data for improvement needs.
- Maintain Quality system documentation and conduct ISO 9001:2015 audits.
- Follow up on corrective actions and verify effectiveness.
- Design and develop new products to meet market demands.
- Conduct engineering calculations and adhere to relevant standards.
- Communicate design intent to stakeholders.
- Participate in R&D projects and validate designs.
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or similar.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Mechanical or Design Engineer.
- Experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and ISO requirements.
- Strong problem-solving skills and CAD proficiency.
- Familiarity with FMEA and engineering principles.
- Excellent communication and project management abilities.
