Assistant Accountant

Located in Melbourne, our company provides a comprehensive building surveying and certification service on a national basis, registered and practicing throughout Australia.  We are seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant. You will have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, combined with exceptional attention to detail and operate with a high level of integrity and confidentiality.

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• MYOB Bank Feed allocations
• Accounts receivable including invoicing and debt collection.
• Accounts payable including Taxable Payments reporting. 
• Payroll processing (monthly) and all related statutory reporting. 
• Detailed Excel analysis including tables & graphs.
• BAS and IAS preparation and lodgment.
• General ledger reconciliations.
• Assist the CFO with day-to-day responsibilities.
• Cover for the CFO during leave periods.

You will require:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role which included the responsibilities listed above.
• Solid understanding of accounting principals.
• Proficiency in MYOB online.
• Experience in preparing BAS and IAS.
• Strong Excel skills and ability to use for analysis.
• Strong numerical accuracy, problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and effectively manage workloads and deadlines.
