An exciting opportunity has become available for an Assistant Accountant to join our Finance Team. As a key member of the Finance Team, you will play an integral part in the performance of the finance function. Reporting directly to the Senior Financial Accountant, your role will be hands-on role responsible to provide accounting and financial support, assist in ensuring that all statutory, tax and management reporting requirements are met. This position will also support and provide relief for other accounts team members as and when required.
To ensure your success in the role, you will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting
- CPA or studying towards CA are highly advantageous
- Evidence of past success in a similar role, preferably with some exposure to the Not-for-Profit Sector (3 to 5 years’ experience)
- Microsoft Office, specifically Excel proficiency with knowledge of a variety of accounting systems and client management systems
- Solutions focused, a problem solver and flourish under tight deadlines.
The Role:
- Provide general assistance and support to the Senior Financial Accountant including the preparation of month end reporting including journals and all associated activities.
- Process fortnightly transactional journals as required.
- Assist the Finance team to deliver transactional services to the standard and timeframes required by the organisation including accounts payable, accounts receivable, fleet management, asset accounting, banking facilities and treasury functions.
- Extract data and provide financial analysis and transaction details as required.
- Prepare regular general ledger reconciliations.
- Complete transactional activities such as processing journals and resolving routine queries, ensuring actions are appropriately supported and undertaken on a timely basis.
- Undertake other activities which the incumbent might reasonably be expected to do, and which are consistent with the accountabilities and responsibilities as listed above.
