AddressOur client is a leading education provider in Australia, a global top 50 higher education institution. You’ll be joining as an Assistant Accountant specialising in the assets team. This part-time role, working 3-days a week, is pivotal in maintaining the integrity of financial systems, particularly in asset-related transactions. You'll support the Asset Accountant and report into the Senior Financial Accountant, ensuring accurate accounting practices, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to month-end and year-end close-off procedures, financial analysis, and reporting.
- Monitor moderate asset and leasing inboxes, responding to queries in a timely manner.
- Assist in preparing consolidated annual financial statements.
- Maintain the integrity of the SAP Asset Register and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Participate in asset and financial accounting projects and improvement initiatives.
- Foster effective relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders involved in finance activities.
- Degree in business or accounting preferred, with CA/CPA accreditation or equivalent experience.
- experience with SAP (desirable) or similar financial systems, particularly in the Assets module.
- Excellent communication skills, able to convey complex financial information clearly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong numerical and analytical abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
- Part time position – 3 days per week
- $35 - $40 per hour plus super
