The primary role of the Assistant Accountant is to support the Properties & Assets Head in overseeing the financial aspects of the Company's property portfolio and insurance program. Beyond managing property expenses such as maintenance and other operational costs, preparing annual budgets and cashflow forecasts, the Assistant Accountant is integral to safeguarding the business's assets and implementing effective risk management practices.

- Process outgoing invoices on a daily basis, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Collaborate closely with property managers to distinguish chargeable and nonchargeable outgoings Establish and maintain Accounting codes and categories to effectively track and account for various property outgoings
- Conduct quarterly reviews and generate reports on actual outgoings, comparing against the designated budget
- Prepare annual financial year reports for actual outgoings, ensuring completeness and compliance Perform a comprehensive outgoings audit at the end of each financial year, evaluating recoverable outgoings to ensure accuracy in tenant charges
- Generate statements of actual outgoings for each property, maintaining meticulous records
- Prepare proportionate actual outgoings for each tenancy, considering property-specific details Calculate the balance between actual outgoings and charges to tenants, confirming necessary adjustments for each tenancy
- Collaborate with relevant teams to streamline processes and enhance overall efficiency in outgoings management
- High level attention to detail and accuracy
- High level numerical and reconciling ability and data entry skills
- Excellent organisational skills including the ability to determine priorities, meet regular deadlines and take/ follow up action
- Ability to work autonomously
- Ability to multitask and manage the flow of people and business
- Build effective working relationships and can liaise well with internal and external stakeholders maintaining sensitive and confidential matters
- Maintains confidentiality and privacy of business
- Works well in fast pace, deadline driven environment
- Degree in Commerce, Accounting or a related field
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Demonstrated ability to contribute in a professional and collaborative way in a team
- Strong computer skills with advanced proficiency in using multiple technology platforms and software, including Xero and Microsoft applications
- Property industry experience (desirable)
