About the role:
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join our Melbourne based team working out of our Dandenong office. Reporting to the Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include assisting with the provision of accounting services across the organisation. This position would suit someone on their journey to obtain their CPA. You will have the opportunity to work within a highly experienced, high performing team. This position will be within our RV solutions business.
The key responsibilities of the role are to:
- Assist with the month end processes and reporting
- Analyse Overhead variance & Develop reports.
- Responsible for Preparation of Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Assist the Finance Manager with forecasting processes, including P&L and cash flow forecasting as well as budgeting.
- Maintenance of new items and BOM, assist in costing and inventory stocktakes.
- Assist in accounts payable, maintenance of stock in transit and prepayments.
- Maintenance of Fixed Asset Register, including asset additions, disposals and depreciation
- Assisting with audit procedures and Tax requirements including GST and FBT
- Daily banking & bank reconciliation
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:
- Bachelor in Accounting / Finance or related field
- 3 plus years’ experience in a similar role.
- Sound statistical, analytical and administrative skills as well as Strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to deal with personnel at all levels of the business.
- Advanced MS Excel skills and Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV or other ERP (Desirable)
- CA / CPA or other professional qualification, or Progression towards obtaining said qualification
- Experience inventory accounting and Job Costing is desirable.
